Competition and European Union Law
The Competition and European Union Law team of Ana Bruno & Associados has vast
experience in advising and providing support on Competition Law matters, particularly
on the preparation of notifications, defense in existing cases, and the filing of claims and
complaints, both before the Portuguese regulatory authorities and the European Union.
The team monitors the whole process and contributes to finding the best resolution, with
a goal of obtaining the best result for the client.
The team also has much experience regarding the analysis of the applicability of Article
101 and Article 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. As a result
of its work in Mergers, Acquisitions and Corporate Restructuring, the team also has
considerable experience in the notification of mergers, both at a national level and
before the European authorities, acting in any case, for both domestic and international
clients. The firm also works in the field of distribution, agency, and franchising contracts,
being responsible for the preparation and negotiation of such contracts, and the
preparation of legal reports on issues such as exclusive obligations, territorial
protection, resale price fixing/maintenance, economic dependence, and mechanisms of
exclusion.
